Does picking a model up, inspecting the mess I've made, then putting it down for a few more weeks count as continued progress?

of course. Like traffic reports "delays are ongoing"

Ah that's not too much to blend in. I've got the Airfix kit on my bench at the mo, waiting for me to sand of the ton of around the nose!

Is that the 48th or 72nd scale kit you're working on?

Ever get to the point where all your efforts feel wasted?

After a lot of fitting the wing glove extensions eventually went on to reveal a massive gap between them and the wing which shouldn't exist. At the moment my favoured solution is to ignore the thing and neglect it in a corner while turning attention to something else.

Repeat after me:  "God bless Italeri...."  Gotta love their quality control.  Much as I hate to say it, even the (sharp intake of breath) Revell kit is better engineered.  Not that that's saying much - with Italeri it's a pretty low bar to pass in the first place.  I had similar basic fit/kit-engineering issues when I tried (and failed) to make the Kitty Hawk 1/48th F-35B.  It was that one kit that made me swear never to touch any Kitty Hawk kit ever again.  Ever.

Am I correct in thinking boyo in the back there got a roasting for that? Some people have no sense of humour.

There's a high potential I'm about to pull the two crew out of this and get on with the Revell kit instead even though I'm well aware of the issues it presents.

Heard a good one today apparently the tanker boys at Marham called it the MRCA "mostly refurbished Canberra aircraft" flown by the "dim ba******ds"

Hi Darren. The Marham boys can't claim credit for that one!

A similar Monika was used when my father was involved in the program long long before it became Tornado, and it was ' must and again' then, not 'mostly and 'aircraft'.

Who would think think that the aircraft was endangered?

Ignorant Karens who think that flying is complicated and that pilots must never be teased? Armchair warriors who think that military members must never be allowed to express humour in public? Complete and utter idiots who think that their ignorant opinions somehow matter?

We may never know.

Looking at the fun you've had with this one, I can't decide it its actually much of a step up from the 1/48 Airfix kit I'm currently building...

There really isn't an easy route to a 48th scale Tornado model :(
