mac1677 1,649 Report post Posted October 13, 2020 Hi all, I fancied doing an O/D B-17 and got this kit from the Works online sale for £20, a couple of days after it arrived I started the build and here she is finished. BTW a wee bit of trivia for you. Shilaylee was the only B-17 to have white walled tyres 😎 Airfix 1/72 Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress (A08017), Shilaylee, flown by Lt Mark Roberts,349th Bomb Squadron, 100th Bomb Group, Thorpe Abbots, UK, February 1944: Thanks for looking in 👍

dixieflyer 688 Report post Posted October 18, 2020 I love it! Glad to see this as I was under the impression that most of of this model of the late G's were NMF. I love the OD/neutral grey scheme!
Miggers 3,688 Report post Posted October 20, 2020 Well nice Mac. A great job on the faded O.D. When I did my Dak I gave her many, many light coats in varyingly lighter shades to get there, but it still doesn't look as well faded as that Fort.

dixieflyer 688 Report post Posted November 20, 2020 Oh! @mac1677, I forgot to mention: Those white-walls . . . . classy! As we say here at work in Kentucky, "man, you can't hide money, can ya?" 😉 1
