MikoLee 1,395
You know those insomnia induced middle of the night online purchases. . . I enjoy anime and manga, so, when ithas a link with JASDF I thought why not! It is very much a reference work giving details of the structure and equpment of the Japan Air Self Defense Force .. . . . . and includes an anthropomorphised manga girl for every type! These are just a few of the 128 pages most of which are perhaps a little too saucy for All Scale Modeller!??!!? Miko (best keep this one away from missus Miko. Eeeeeeeek!) 1

The Japanese do seem to enjoy young ladies showing their . . . . foundation garments, shall we say, although describing such a skimpy piece of fabric as a garment might be a bit of a stretch! Blue Noser 3,948
Had my first Competition show since the onset of this covid sh1te, I travelled to Fredericton, New Brunswick, a trip of 400 km, equivalent to Helston to Swansea, and it was a very pleasurable trip indeed, dual carriageway all the way, no caravans, no Honda fits and for alot of the time no other bugger on the road . Sheer bliss, 105 kmph on the cruise all the way! Now as i entered the comp I had a go in the sponsors raffle and came away with a couple of prizes, there were about 3 times the prizes compared to the entrants! This was my small haul for the day: The Tempo was actually a purchase, I've seen these since they were released and thought I must have one, so finally filled that gap! The Airacobra was my first selection in the prize draw, not one I would usually purchase but as a prize it is well worth a go. The French street was 2nd pass but the downside is that to make use of it I will need some decent 1:72 WWII armour to go with it , the mask was on the third round and I was struggling to select something, I miss read it and thought it was for a Airacobra and believed it may fit my Arma kit .... but alas, the kit already has a set of masks and it wouldnt fit anyway! I also entered some kits in the comp, so if you'll excuse a piece of self indulgence ...... Gold in large aircraft Gold in medium aircraft And a silver in light armour The competition does a Gold, Silver, Bronze award not a 1st and runner up, so if you have several in one category you get the medal for the highest scoring kit and not the others, so not sure which aircraft got the gold, maybe they both did?! Any hoo, it was nice to be back in competition again! Bob Edited May 29 by Blue Noser

They still gave out best in category and show awards, but I think it goods to get graded as opposed to 1st/2nd.

BlackMike Models 9,460
I ordered this book from an eBay site in Japan and it arrived in less than 2 weeks. I am rapidly becoming a big fan of Shuichi Hayashi's work as he doesn't faff around with aftermarket but generally builds OOB and then does his magic at the weathering stage. Well worth following on Facebook if you do that kind of thing and I can recommend the book which is in Japanese and English with excellent photos. A wee bit expensive but well worth it. dixieflyer 4,730
@Blue Noser, I think you're really going to enjoy that AH Airacobra, it sure looks nice in the box, and from the builds I've seen people do online, it seems to have few vices. As for 1/72nd armor, I'll just add on that Dragon has released some nice1/72nd kits as well. @RWG686, looking forward to seeing what you do with that Bronco. For some reason here of late I've been on a Vietnam kick. 2
