Sprocket 8,431
I'm on a Henschel move at the Moment, with the Henschel truck above, now this, a Henschel Hs123A-1, with the box art showing a Condor legion aircraft, which I'll go for, make sure I stay on track on this one, can't have two 1/72 aircraft set backs in one week.
Lost Cosmonauts 4,947
I dropped the Su-15 off with the chap who I built it for (very happy indeed) and knowing my penchant for oddities (that’ll be why I lurk around you lot) as a thank you he gave me a Mach 2 1:72 Ryan Vertijet 5
Che Guava 4,339
@RWG686and I visited Glasgow (in horrendous driving conditions - spray so bad and people were driving too fast in minimal visibility, it was all I could do to get past them ) for our monthly burger and two coffees, with a visit to Scott's Models to pick up our kit order. I got this... ..despite the 'new 2002' label, it is only just out here, so this will fulfil one of my modelling new year resolutions, to buy a kit just released this year and build it straight away - the way we used to when we were kids, not add it to the 'pending' stash for another 45 years! @RWG686got one too, so he'll be badgered to get on with it....

Blue Noser 3,548
It was club night again last Wednesday and we have a draw for a 50 buck voucher in the local Museum gift shop where we hold the meeting. Its a very well stocked model shop with old and new kits available. Before the draw I had some eyes on a Heller sailing ship model, the "Passat', quite a large beast which was reduced from $100 down to $45. I said if I won the draw I would have that ..... and I did win the draw! But on inspection I chickened out of that one, a wee bit too fiddly and fragile ( the ship not me!), on that night I also scouted a 1:35 Hobby Boss Fiesler Storch which did look nice and would have been practically free, so I delayed my purchase to do some research. After digging deep I made up my mind and thought I would plump for that Storch, so headed into the shop on Saturday and came away with this! Wasnt practically free, but I was smitten by it! Curse Dave the model shop guy, he always does this type of sh!t! I'm sure it will be a fun old build! And I can justify the Storch at a later meeting anyway!
dixieflyer 4,388
Does the box contain the whole kaboodle pictured on the box top? If so, WOW! That's a lot of model.

At least it'll have less fiddly breakable bits!

azureglo 1,967 Posted yesterday at 10:33 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:33 AM (edited) What does £100 get you these days? This: Nice chap who's clearing out his house after his wife moved to a dementia care home, asked me If I'd like them as he begins downsizing Works perfectly and virtually unmarked but after I looked up what these all mechanical beauties go for, I pointed out the value and he refused any payment so but suggested a donation of £100 to an Alzheimer's charity. I was a Nikon man in the day, an F2SB with assorted lenses of course, but loved this and the OM1 for the size as well the all important mechanical shutters. Will be nice to get back into developing and printing again: Still have all my old Paterson tanks, trays, print washer et al and am amazed to find both Ilford and Paterson very much alive and thriving. Now to score some FP5 and start shooting real photographs again. Edited yesterday at 12:36 PM by azureglo
Mad Steve 20,611 Posted yesterday at 03:25 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:25 PM Afternoon All Dropped off some paint for one of my friends who's laid up at home and he had this for me... Never used, Chinese copy. I don't care what anyone says, these Chinese airbrushes aren't that bad. I used one for the first 5 years of my airbrushing experience. Yes, it actually lasted 5 years, shocking. (even more shocking, it's still working ) Yes I know Iwata etc etc are better, but some folks can't afford them and they get by just fine with these. They are very popular over here
Col. 7,396 Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM No photo this time as I keep forgetting to take one but a couple of kits from the Thainstone Model Truck Show on Sunday. Aberdeen Modelers Society put on a display of kits and while it wasn't a typical model show as we may commonly recognise it we got a bit of attention and some conversations going. After setting up we noticed a trader across from us had a few kits as well amongst his many die-cast lorries so went to investigate. I scored a 72nd scale Airfix MiG-17 and the 35th scale Thunder Model double kit of Indian motorcycles for £20 so happy boy.

Neither do I, the clones are perfectly good for what you pay for them. I bought a clone to test the theory that a trigger grip might be more comfortable to use for a long spraying session (it is, for me). Having proven the theory I forked out for a Grex and yes, it is a superior bit of kit, but difficult to measure just how superior. I still use the clone for some jobs and funnily enough it's never blown a seal, unlike the Grex.
Mad Steve 20,611
Morning When i still belonged to the joburg model club I had plenty of 'experten' telling me how useless they were, they jam for no reason etc and one guy told me straight out I was lying about mine. In 5 years ive replaced the needle, thats it, and thats because i bent it I do actually have an airbrush issue with my Tamiya Sparmax, but ill open a new thread for some advice.

After only two and a half years light use the nozzle on my Iwata Neo split. The price of a replacement was ridiculous. As it was my first airbrush I was soooo careful with it but I was told (by someone over the road - I know, who'd believe it?) that it must be due to my own clumsiness as Iwata airbrushes are hand-built by angels in heaven - made from only the purest dreams and are personally inspected by God him/herself. I may have made the last bit up, but you get the gist.
Thatsmyboy 831
Trouble posting pics but , never mind. Local charity shop find - an original Italeri 1/72 "Project Aurora" combo!! Complete and, a very reasonable £20!!.
Drichc 522
Just be grateful the Neo is made by Sparmax and the nozzles are pretty much on par with H&S etc, but try buying an Iwata nozzle. That'll make your moths sick!!!!
