My STegosaurusGB kit arrived today as well, although that will remain under-wraps until I get started – you'll all be guaranteed to be dead jealous as I've pulled out all the stops to get the perfect kit. :smiling:

Fixed it for you lol

I know the Tamiya Stegy isn't accurate

A chap of your skills should be able to make a few corrections, Mark.
Though you may end up using more milliput that plastic! xD

There's a gap in the market for new tool dinosaurs based on modern research imho

Seconded. There are plenty of new Tamiya dino kits available so they must still be churning them out, which means they must still be good sellers.

Keeping them up to date with current theories might be the problem though. I heard recently that some palaeontologists believe that most dinosaurs had some form of early feathers. And before you ask, no I don't intend to give my Stegy lovely plumage. :ermm:

Spoil sport! :P

AFAIK it was the theropods and proto-avians that tended to have feathers.
So Stegy can keep his bony scales xD

Yeah I can imagine that Tamiya can keep selling the kits to kids of all ages.
Think I found the set I mentioned which has one of my favourite types with the duckbill mouth

I'd have to put feathers on some of them.
Especially the croc xD

You'd have to pluck a flock of archaeopteryx first.

This month's edition has an 'all chicken action' feature. May ruffle a few feathers.

I never did a diorama, but I would like to do one, of a museum of natural history, using this kits.

Two tomto plants. The broad leaves at the bottom right are from basil sprigs bought in Trashco last week and put in water; they're sprouting roots now. Never ditch any bought herb clippings, try and grow them.

And when you walk into a little gem of a shop that does models and railway stuff in 'Menspants' (Penzance) and the memsahib espies this and says 'Oh that looks good' Even a plastic 1/24 model would still outrun a Jazz

Got an expertly packed package through from BlackMike Models yesterday,

2021-05-04_05-12-16

A nice mixed-media kit of the subject that I'm thinking to do in the boxart markings,

2021-05-04_05-12-53

although there's two similar alternatives included,
