Ready for a lick of blue.

Ooh yeh, forgot to mention, those "fahsands of rivvits" have been reduced a fair bit too.

Given her a lick of 65 Blue,so I'll let things harden off for a few days then have a look at doing the underwingtips white and

masking out for the sand upper works.

What's a Humbrol match for the green cammo Darren?,I though the old "Dark Green"of dark green and dark earth fame looked fair.

Sand on top:

I even masked it out to get a straight line:

Note that it's a bit "smoover" too having removed quite a few of those "fahsands of rivets"

Looking good migs great work

Well you were right Daz,it's actually quite a good kit.

I've not built the current one,so I can't actually say whether it's a vast improvement over this one or not.

Shiney decalled 'Schmitt:

HJM's "White 3" from JG27,1941.

The tropical filter needs a wash to bring out the meshing, but as you see,the "Fahsands of Rivvitts" have been reduced a fair bit.

Surprisingly, the 40 year old Airfix decals(apart from the "3" which is Modeldecal)worked exactly as on the tin.

Matchbox's swastikas OTOH,took a fair bit of persuading to come off the backing sheet.

Still working on the prop and spinner, but she should be up on her feet this week.

The prop is slightly thinned, wheels fitted to the main legs,it's just that blasted spinner that's causing strife..

No Mowta Kennen indeed, who mentioned that fact eh,eh?,no sniggering at the back you Black and Green types.

Yes,so I was informed by the "Schmitteratti":secret:

What flavour black is half that blasted spinner likely to be,SchwarzGrun or just common or garden Schwarz?

There is a difference of opinion on this and they have varied i would go straight black for later 109s but for the Emil I'd go RLM 70 schwarzgrun

Up on her feet  now, spinner ready for paint too.

photo-2020-11-17-14-36-17.jpg

Still a few odds and ends of paint for the main airframe to do such as the air filter,a bit of exhaust staining

and a light general weathering.

I thought I'll keep her fairly clean though as a member of the gentry's mount.
