I remember saying the same thing at a car auction (I bought a Triumph Dolomite!) watching a camel-coated professional trader standing face-in to the corner of the room with one finger in his ear holding a house-brick to the other, with a fishing rod sticking out the top, jump-lead cables leading into his coat pocket where they seemed to be connected to something the weight of a car battery pulling his coat all out of shape, shouting 'HELLO...HELLO' repeatedly into the contraption.

After watching a trailer for the first Star Wars film, I confidently predicted that it would be failure.

That sort of insight has been particularly strong influence in my life.
