She made a guest appearance in the Sea Devon thread but as she is now getting some attention she has one of her own.

The canopy was fitted.

It was slightly too wide on the starboard side so that's been filled and sanded. ( I missed a bit though!)

I noticed a bit of paint had strayed on to the windows so a cocktail stick was used to clean it off.

If you are using this method ...don't press too hard...

I'm hoping that they are not too big to fill with Krystal Klear as there is no way I can get the glazing strip back into the holes.

The possibility of major surgery has not yet been ruled out.

As everything I touch tonight seems to turn to a smelly brown substance (don't ask about the F-4 and Spitfire) I've abandoned ship.

Will this be finished as the Lossiemouth one? Have I let the cat out of the bag?

Yes and no. It was mentioned in the Sea Devon thread.

I'll be doing either HG694 or NF847.

I recently came across a monoplane version with a sun roof:

Did you really believe that I would go down the Krystal Klear route?

If my pot of said liquid wasn't about 30 years old I might have.

Fortunately the wing came off easy enough and there won't be much fulling to do either.

I'm not tempting providence..the wing is only sat on until I'm certain that the window glazing is stuck solid.

Yeah, but it had really poor flying characteristics so they didn't proceed any farther with the design.

You'll get rigging instructions on the web.

You are being deliberately obtuse there.      Let me share  :secret:.

We're all going to build a 1/72 scale Spitfire XIV in Civvy markings :hrhr:

Anyway..why am I cluttering up the thread with 💩:stirthepot: ?

The Dominie got a quick paint of silver over the rejoined wing.

That has since been wiped off and a smidgeon of filler applied.

A really unforgiving colour is silver!

Is it to be decided by drawing straws who has to build it? Or how about paper, rock, craft knife?

Miggers has an Intelligence unit? Quelle surprise! Is waterboarding where the squad from the local Water Board come along and digs a trench outside your house for a fortnight and block your driveway with traffic cones? Pure torture.

Sad news.

My rigging expert and constant presence in the workshop died today.

Here she is;

We had one like that that used to live under the settee, but only came out at night. About 100mm fore and aft as pictured below, I named it Bob, although I suspect 'he' was a 'she'. Mrs B wanted Bob evicted, but I declined to do the deed. I found Bob's body behind the settee one day, I suspect one of the cats did the dirty deed.Bob.thumb.jpg.5458dd61c1f292dfdbd7a54ff15915bf.jpg
