AMK 1/48 F-14D Tomcat in progress

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Latest CAD news for our release in 1/48 later in the year 2016.

Will have a choice of wings. Basically one wing option will be fully slick and molded with flaps and slats closed the other wing will be able to have everything open. Full range of weapons to be included as standard.

5 Decal options.

Easy to Build and excellently engineered as you should expect.

This release is already shown to be “Rivet Counter” correct as it has the two rows of rivets on the leading portion of the canopy unlike other recent “releases”. As a rover counter myself I believe that our kits should reflect my own modelling.

We will be doing the “B” and the “A” soon enough.

More exciting news on included options to be released soon.

Mr. President, it is not only possible, it is essential. That is the whole idea of this machine, you know. Deterrence is the art of producing in the mind of the enemy... the FEAR to attack. And so, because of the automated and irrevocable decision-making process which rules out human meddling, the Doomsday machine is terrifying and simple to understand... and completely credible and convincing.

And the details on the sides like panel lines and the piano hinges get captured faithfully while hiding a join in the corner.  Although I prefer the Hasegawa 1:72 Tomcats over the Fujimi ones, I still think the Fujimi breakdown was rather clever, and this takes it one step further with slide moulding.

Thanks Bryce,

Yes Sio has the warewithall to do it and he has some tricks up his sleeves yet. I wouldn’t worry about anything at this stage.

Some small corrections to be made to the CADs, the walkway area is twisted slightly (not rounded) and this will be on the next render. Similarly, some panel lines to be moved and deleted on the single piece intake trunking.

New CADs fresh from Macau.

The walkway is changed to show the slight twist on the area above the intake. Some said it was rounded, but it is definitely twisted not rounded.

There is also a slight kink in the wing that was first noticed by Pete Hamann. With thanks to him we now built this into the wing section. It is extremely slight but it certainly there. We, of course, added this to the wing for accuracy.
