BAE Warrior, 1/48, Airfix

BAE Warrior by Airfix in 1/48 scale
 
been away from the bench for 2 weeks, time to get back to it, this has been in the stash for too long so its come to the top of the pile, as it were
 
this is the up armoured version with bar armour as used in Afghanistan

I want to start doing mine too. Im not sure about the bar armour though ( read, too tight to buy the PE set 😁

done the wmik and snatch landies.....wmik was ok snatch was a bit of a bugger........done the Jackal which went together very nicely......done the quad bikes too but they were easy

Morning Chaps :) 

Its really poo that Airfix stopped where they did with these kits, because they really are excellent. 

I think they should have added some stowage onto the vehicles tho, would have made them just that little bit better :) 

Glad I'm not the only one having issues with the Snatch Landrover :)

couldnt get the doors to fit, had to do it with the doors open

you cant compare it to 'traditional' airfix.......you even get a little jig to make sure you get the suspension arms all level

had a coat of paint, next step is some more assembly before it gets a wash

quite impressed.........it really is taking a while to put together simply cos of how many parts there are!

still a weird scale for me cos im used to 1/35......added something for scale

@beowulf, if I could make a suggestion? My thinking would be to use ground pastels, as the over-riding 'colour' would be dust. Possibly a mixture of a light fawn / beige with a degree of dirty white and a little grey. Just a thought....

need to sort out the weathering a bit, matt coat on top of it all, then i can crack on with the bar armour

this really is a good value kit for Airfix
