I was listening to one of the modeling podcasts some time ago and they had someone on there who goes out and tries to recreate models used in the movies but using the exact same parts as the originals. He had to painstakingly research the make up of the models and then work out which kit the individual parts came from, then find out most of the kits were long out of production. At the time it was quite an interesting listen but for the life of me, I cant remember what the podcast was as I listen to most of them!
