Blue Noser 4,394
Good day all! I think this is my first ever post in the Sci-Fi section, not a regular subject area I delve into. This is my impression of the BSG Colonial One from Moebius, as I said I dont delve into this subject often but this kit was a give away at a recent club meet and I thought I'd give it a crack. I've not really watched much of the new iteration of BSG so dont know much about the authenticity of the model but it was a nice kit to build, a couple of small issues along the way but nothing too serious. The blue areas did come as decals but having looked at reviews they didnt quite align with the windows so I just opted to paint them. The decals were a little ropey, especially the bands on the outer engines, they still dont sit right but couldnt get them to settle down even with my strongest solutions! They will soon crack and flake off so it will add a bit of a weathered effect. I was a bit loose with the colour call outs so aficionados may get a bit upset but it is my interpretation . The one area I didnt like were the engine intakes and exhausts which were gaping holes with big seams inside so I fitted black blanks for the intake and made up some fancy schmancy coloured blank for the exhaust, looks alright from a distance! (of several light years). Any way here are the results: Thanks for looking in! Bob
Gorby 20,040
It's a very nice thing Bob. The scheme and the overall dimensions and shape makes it look like a totally authentic model to me.* * I've never watched BSG so haven't a clue what I'm talking about. ** ** Nothing new there then.

Long 1,988
I really like it, and from memory it looks pretty accurate! Lightly spoils first episode: Spoiler If I'm remembering correctly it starts out as a spaceliner(like an airliner but in space), hence the livery. There's a politician on holiday onboard, and she becomes president when war breaks out and the entire government gets nuked. Then she makes it her 'Airforce one', hence Colonial One. Mad Steve 23,561
Excellent Bob, that just looks the nuts doesn't it... (How the hell can you have survived this long without watching BSG, Yes, I'm looking at you too Gorbs...)

I had to Googalise what BSG was. When I ruled out that it was unlikely to be a British Society of Gastroenterology spaceship, Battle Star whatsit was the next most likely. Brilliant Homes, how do you do it!
