TeeELL 682
I built my first one but felt that a better job could be done so attempted a second - it was partly successful! this is the first version, I’ve no photos of the second. I will sort that later today. The helmets, both British and those over the headlights are 3D printed.
TeeELL 682
The whole of the running gear has been replaced, the howitzer, the shell holders and several other components have been designed and 3D printed. This is a model where the original ‘rubber band’ tracks are an advantage - that said, with correctly sizes road wheels, they probably wouldn’t fit!
TeeELL 682
This was an early foray into 3D printing for AFVs and, looking at it now, I would remove the various ‘tools’ and spend a happy half hour designing separate replacements. I didn’t even do that on the second build.
Gorby 21,590
It certainly adds an extra interesting dimension to modelling.
Mad Steve 25,049
Wow, after seeing the stuff you lot have been doing on printers, that T34/85 clinched it for me this morning. That was my first ever kit and it was the redone tracks that said Right you old fart, you need to start looking into this 3d printing malarky... Your Priests look very nice indeed. I built the Priest as well, fond memories there, and modifying it into a Kangaroo... Thanks for that trip

Thanks for that trip Steve, if you are going to be creating your own stuff as I do, then spend time mastering the CAD software you plan to use before you invest in a printer etc.

Really, there aren't enough kits and subjects out there that you would like to build, a lot of which are state of the art, or close, that you feel the need to inflict hours of smegging about and expense on yourself to improve kits which are basket cases, you're mad you are. Mad Steve 25,049
Oh no... I'm not going to redo parts for kits or make improved bits, I'm going to make my own bike kits
