PaulC 566
Did my first test print yesterday All well and good. This is the test file provided by Anycubic on a memory stick. So, once that was done, I went to my laptop, opened Chitubox and opened a file. I scaled it to fit etc, made sure I had the right printer manufacturer selected, and sliced. For Anycubic you get the choice of either a .photon or .PWS file. I did both and saved them to the provided USB stick. I transferred it to the printer, and.....it only sees the test piece! Back to the laptop and I tried saving them to a properly formatted stick....again, nothing! Off to the tintaweb to find answers..... Most of what was suggested I had done.....small file names, formatted USB stick to FAT32, I even tried making the file smaller....nothing. Lastly it suggested checking the firmware is up to date. This is where I came unstuck, as no matter how I try, I cannot get the firmware files to download. So....at the moment, I can print cubes, but that's it..... 1
Gorby 21,726
The only person on here who I can think of who may be able to help is @Lost Cosmonauts. If Alistair can't help I would suggest contacting Anycubic.
Lost Cosmonauts 5,373
I’ve had the odd issue where the printer stopped seeing some files on the stick. I know they don’t like folders or non alphanumeric characters in the file name. I just got round it by bloody mindedness updating and reinstalling chitubox and a few goes at reslicing and saving to a different usb stick but never quite got to the bottom of why it took umbrage I wouldn’t go near your firmware yet, I’d suggest trying a different chitubox version or another slicer before messing with the printer’s brain. I’m not in my workspace for a little while but could also try sending you a presliced file that I know works on my machines?
Drichc 721
@PaulC This seems to be an Anycubic thing. I had it with a Photon S and a Mono SE. @Lost Cosmonauts is bang on about the alphanumeric issue and this caused me grief a few times initially. I also had firmware issues and the only way I got them in the end was to contact their support desk. I was sent new 'working' ones that totally messed things up, so be very careful and use the FB page to see if others have hade issues with specific firmware versions. One issue I had was using newer USB sticks. I ended up using old freebies from work that were USB 1, as 2 was flakey and 3 just didn't work properly at all! That sorted most of my issues. I can also if you like slice something as an anycubic file and send it to you, or vice verse if it's a standard stl you are trying to print point me to it and I'll see if I can slice it for Elegoo and print. Or did you draw it yourself? Rich

Chitubox was putting .photon or .pws extensions on the files which the printer wouldn't see, despite them supposedly being the correct ones. Lychee gave it a .pwmb ext, which is what the test file had. 2
Gorby 21,726
Good to see you sorted it out and looking forward to see your first print.
RWG686 40,788
I think that this technology has done amazing things for the hobby and can only get better but I have to confess that I understood less than 2% of what was written above.
PaulC 566
First actual print. A present for my best mate, as she always posts baby yoda memes on FB 2023-08-10_10-07-10 by Paul Carter, on Flickr
