Che Guava 4,687
Funnily enough, Miggs, it was the rear flimsy joint that stayed put when I had to force the wings up a little to meet the upper fuselage/wing joint, it was the front one that lifted up .5mm. Easily fixed with a bit of a sand down and a shovel-full of Doctor @RWG686's Universal Cure For Recalcitrant Models to make up the gap. But your advice was timely, The dihedral wouldn't have held without that support. Ta.

Che Guava 4,687
Big bits together, feels solid, especially with a big chunk of lead flashing stuck behind the cockpit.... Now to tackle the joint lines. While this kit seems to have about the same number of components as your average kit, there are positively yards of joint lines Edited February 14 by Che Guava

Well, you see, @RWG686 gave me a part-built (i.e. all the big bits put together) military 707 (no windows), on which he'd made a pretty good job of the joint lines a couple of years ago. I thought I might just follow the 6b with finishing the 707 (and no, I'm not cutting out all those windows - they can go on the decal sheet stripe I'd have to make up anyway.) All good practice for a Brabazon build I reckon.

Or at least not many. Hardly any, in fact. You might also find the old and long out of production Frsin 1/144 kit which I built fairly long ago. It also has few seams (but no lack of opportunity for filler).
Che Guava 4,687
Now, while everyone is wondering how much filler @RWG686 and I will use on two little Fokker S-18s, I thought I'd post this (slow) progress pic. Granted it looks much like the one a few posts back, but it is now all paint rather than coloured plastic. The props and undercarriage are still in the box, but at least I've got the engines running (smoky ol' sods so they are). Just a third coat of white on top before I can do the blue cheat-line. Just be thankful I spared you the blow-by-blow account of the two-month seam-filling marathon.

Che Guava 4,687
Blue stripe is going on.... Yards of joint lines are matched by metres of masking. Revel paints playing ball here by drying much quicker than Humbrol. Still needed three coats of white up top, and two, maybe three of blue. Inevitably, I knocked the nosewheel off, undercarriage very weak when trying to support heavy model with enough lead in the nose to keep the tail up. I'd have to have those for the extra weight of the DC-7C I'm planning nextish, hope the 6b holds out on spindly plastic ones - for now.

The kit didn't cost me that. Ok, so I'm a cheapskate. However, I won't get this big lump finished in time now. Nose leg beefed up with a bit of very thin superglued brass rod. One main assembly had already given up in disgust, and while fixing the nosegear, the other main leg fell off - I swear I never even touched it. So, quick pic and will transfer over to the 'In Pro Regress' section. 1
