Apparently I have another build going on somewhere although for the life of me It passes me by. Whatever, I still think I have time to join this few, this very few, this band of brothers in our endeavour (sic) to build a Sci-Fi beauty.

When first discussed I had a couple of Bandai Star Wars candidates that had been dwelling in a cupboard for years. Weirdly some geezer came along earlier this month and bought them both which left me with just one option.

I will be building it straight from the box, no elongated how to posts (not that I ever would), and no rivets! Oh and by the way, my scheme will be red.

Good luck all

I've no idea what that thing is but I assume that it's very low hanging sporran indicates it's a Scottish gent tooled up for a night out in Glasgow.

Am I right?

In the Scottish toon of Glasgow there is nothing but the Grimdark!
For some reason there is a tendency for sci-fi and fantasy miniatures to have a totally superfluous and impractical tea towel dangling between the legs.

Here it has been formalised into a banner so you can see which particular Space Marine chapter is about to turn you into a blob of heretical marmalade.

Very nice choice

No choice really. It’s this or a 1/72nd Scale Revell Fine Molds Millennium Falcon and I would like to sell that on at some point. As I have a self imposed ban on purchasing any more kits it left no option. That said, I am looking forward to a couple of weeks of fun building and painting this.

You and me alike, I have no idea what any of it is. On the plus side if you don’t know what your building then you can’t get it wrong.

Now here is a man that knows, so it’s basically an identifiable (flash) loin cloth.

In the Warhammer 40k world, Imperial Knights are a big big deal, especially when they are trying to turn you into a red smelly mist.....

But after you lot are on about the scottish angle, you have to paint it tartan 😁

That looks a bit like the 'angry man' suit I used to wear when teaching recruits how to use the PR24 side handle baton :D

I only wore it in training  as in the real world no wee  ned or nedess ever got near enough to lay a hand on me .

I'm not biting about the tartan/Scottish stuff except to say that the sticky doon thing would just get in the way.

Regarding your model..I see a red Knight and I want it painted black (apologies to Rolling Stones for the misuse of their lyrics.)

So here we go, that’s about it for parts. I must say, the detail is really good, the design and tooling expense is at a level I’m not used to. I wish they had done a Flower Class Corvette.

The instructions are beautifully laid out.

I am going to deviate from the instructions a little and put the heraldic armour on after painting the basic machinery. That armour is seen here and still requires cleaning up. It will all be brush painted apart from a base coat. Seems like a good opportunity to practice that skill.

Said loin cloth was spotted. Again great detail and already moulded with “wave”. Great stuff.

looking good Paul, although I'm a little bit disappointed that there appears to be a lack of metal bits in the kit, you're letting the side down there. 🔩

Damn poor posture for a military man. Is he going to be holding a mobile phone in front of his face?

STAND UP STRAIGHT THAT MAN!

Corporate (not corporal Gorbs), that’s what I’m thinking. More mercenary than military. He’s a company man called Mac.

Apart from cleaning a few remaining seams the initial building is complete. I have to say the kit is a fantastic piece of engineering. The way it assembles is great. The arms are fully articulated and removable as you will see in the final picture where it is stripped back down ready for painting.

It's gone together rather quickly Paul, now the fun of painting it begins. Seeing as it's quite short does that make it the shortest Knight of the year? 🌛

No “proper” work today, so I did the following;

Half an hour in the shed and the lot was primed black

Covered all the machinery in a sort of silver colour

Picked out some detail in various sorts of metallics

Gave said work a good splash of shady wash

A large handful of pictures show today’s effort including showing me where I need to do some touch ups. Next up is some dry brushing and then it’s on to the heraldic pieces.
