C3 P&C design - HMS Dasher

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I’m planning to build a model of the escort carrier HMS Dasher which was a converted C3 merchant vessel.

Probably 3D printed as parts for display but might do a up scaled RC version if the fancy takes me

While I can find photos and top and side views e.g. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/467966/20151001-FOI2015-08042_Avenger_EC_Data-O.pdf to figure out the topside I’m struggling to find good hull profiles

Does anyone have decent cross sections or profiles for the C3 (P&C) class or know where I could find them

Have a look in www.themodelshipwright.com

Perhaps the USNS Comet would be a starting point ?

It’s those plans and site that swamp the top pages my search results but I may have another offline lead

p.s. What was the name of the book you lent me last year again?

It was either  'The sinking of HMS Dasher' ,  'The secrets of HMS Dasher ', 'They were never told' or 'The American connection to the sinking of HMS Dasher'  all by John Steele.

Unfortunately I no longer have them or else you could have.

Just wanted to double check the title
