A few years ago we went on Oriana on a cruise from Southampton ending up in Dubai.

A few photo's from it.

The entrance to Muscat harbour,I worked in Oman for almost 5 years ,the old town has not changed any since I did.

One jeweller my wife used to go recognised her after 25 years and remembered her name.

The new town is fabulous.

Dubai, very ostentatious, if you don't have enough money don't bother, fish and chips for 3 at the Yacht Club including 2 beers and a tea £85.

Had afternoon tea here paid for by my daughter as my wifes birthday present, completely over the top, full of Chinese.

Three levels of security to even get into the place, complete with fleet of Rolls Royce cars to take you to and from the airport.

I believe the ‘shed’ on the back

See..some of his stuff did rub off :D

Don't fancy that job. Submarines are claustrophobic enough without the 'shed' but then again those men and women (*) are something else.

(*) I'm not sure if the two women among the group  who jumped out of a Herc at very low level who came ashore at Ardyne a couple of years ago and were promptly whisked away in a Puma were British or not as news only now has first female Royal Marine recruit.(officially)

Don't the Astutes look like Russian 'Kilo' class boats?

I could tell you how I know this stuff but I’d have to make you eat Jaffa cakes afterwards!

They could have been ‘specialists’ attached to the SBS. Maybe there was an extreme sewing  bee on somewhere? :)

I'll second that, more like Jaffa Buttons than Cakes.
