Huntsman’s Close 1,022
Perhaps the trouble was that people wanted a Nimrod, but for some reason or another wanted it at the price of a Beaufighter? I know I ‘would like’ one, but I know I’m not going to pay the current going rate for one. So I’ll go without. If it were ever re-released it would be in the £70+ bracket I would imagine.

Given the (then)current pricing for similar large models I think price expectations would have generally been in the same area as the Nimrod was although, it was still on the high side for me. Of course, it doesn't necessarily mean you're wrong ,at least about some individuals. Given the eye watering price levels for some Airfix kits now, I wouldn't pay such a price for a re release either, certainly not for what was a kit which, though pretty decent , only had a fairly basic level of detailing included. A totally new kit would be equally unaffordable so, like you, I'd move swiftly on, no matter how much I might want one. I don't know what sort of price level the Scimitar will be pitched at but, I wonder how many potential customers may become less enthusiastic once they know what it'll cost them. That's modellers all over, in my experience. 2 hours ago, Thatsmyboy said: I don't know what sort of price level the Scimitar will be pitched at but, I wonder how many potential customers may become less enthusiastic once they know what it'll cost them. Possibly, but I would expect the price to be reflecting the demographic they're aiming for with a fairly small production run. Whenever I go to a show I see mostly older blokes walking around with premium type models that cost an eye watering amount of money. I'm not averse to pushing the boat out myself, I've just ordered a Gaspatch Me 163 and schlepper, plus the matching detail set. Admittedly they were doing a Black Friday special, but it still adds up to a tidy sum.
