Airfix 1:48 Bristol Blenheim

Recommended Posts

Hot off the press, well sort of. I finished it just before Christmas. Is Airfix's new 1:48 Bristol Blenheim Mk1.

Can't really say a lot about the build as its for a future magazine article I'm afraid. Needless to say it's in keeping with Airfix's modern releases and I don't think you will be disappointed by it. Not a kit for beginners though, because of that massive greenhouse like canopy.

Onto the pics.

Cheers everybody.

Jessie, you're looking at major modifications. Apart from the obvious, cockpit canopy, engines, nacelles and turret. The main challenge would be moving the whole wing assembly from being mid mounted on the fuselage, to the bottom of it. The Design of the wing to fuselage fit, doesn't really lend itself to that type of modification I don't think.

Nige.

Jack up the windscreen, replace the rest of the aircraft, then while you have the windscreen up on the jacks, replace it, too. :(

It certainly does look pretty fair Nige, definitely close to the "real" one that was parked on the grass at Cosford last year.

(Kept an ear and one eye on it displaying whilst gassing to Debs)
