Not a kit I would repeat building. Many are the issues surrounding it not least the NACA ducts and the nose cone which I replaced. Anyway, Xtracolour EDSG over Xtracolor white. Pastels rubbed along panel lines and a scruffy bit underneath. Firestreaks were kindly supplied by Richard @RWG686however, I did manage to lose two seeker heads hence only two carried. It's a FAW2 kit so I had to grind down the coal hole hatch as well as using the kit Red Top railsEndure.

Nice triumph over a most recalcitrant model. But I'm concerned about the top line of the canopy. Shouldn't it be more curved?

That's probably the least noticeable fault on the kit.

Good job on a poor kit well done

Too right.

I'd heard it was a cock-up from the word go,but you turned a fair result there Darbs, very well done.

Shame we live so far away,a photo call with my D.3 would've been good.

Mine's known as "Foxy" but I suppose yours is known as "Mr Bond"xD

Also the intake vanes are too far back, they're pretty prominent normally.

I still think Darbs has "silk pursed" it to a fair degree though.

Absolutely. If I had been doing it, I would have sent it on its final flight into the garbage can long ago (or more likely, put in on the permanent shelf of Doom, suitable only for testing questionable paints.)

Some much negativity lol. I think it looks absolutely spiffing and seeing it completed makes me want to get started on mine even more. I will be quite happy to ignore the accuracy issues of the kit if either of mine turn out as nicely as this one has. At the end of the day there is no simple way to get a half decent 1/72 Vixen on the shelf but this one isn't too shabby at all.
