Jurassic Hill - 1/24 T-Rex & Triceratops - Pegasus Hobbies

Recommended Posts

I am calling this first attempt at a Jurassic themed diorama complete now.

These are the Pegasus Hobbies 1/24 T-Rex and 2 of their Triceratops models combined into a hilltop fight and rescue scene. The T-Rex is supplied with a slain Triceratops calf however I altered its posture and neck/head to give it the look of still being alive but pinned down while it's parents took over the fight. I also altered the head and neck pose of one of the parent Triceratops to reduce the uniformity of the striding parents.

Thank you for dropping in for a look - I wish we knew what colour dinosaurs really were as these really do leave a lot for the imagination

Truly excellent paint job. Among the best I have seen, and very believable. Love the eyes, the skin texture, and the choice of colours.

I don’t know how modifiable the T-Rex neck was, but if I had to make a suggestion, I would have put one of the parents at a greater angle to the other. Just to complement the turned head.

I realize these models are usually designed to stand alone.

One of the things that likely made the T-Rex more maneuverable (than it seems at least) is that it would probably curl its head and tail together to turn: Unless the model was designed this way from the start, I suppose it would be very hard to get one to look like that...
