Tamiya 1/35 M151A2 w/TOW (aka Mutt)

Recommended Posts

LHi all, after the complex build of the T-90, I am looking for a light and small project. It came in the form of this M151A2 by Tamiya. I got it for 890/- so it's under a tenner.

As for colour scheme, I used the scientific decision making process of heads or tails, and settled on the US Army version.

Ok, enough nattering, into pictures.

The box art shows the USMC version, and the army one is on the side.

The sprues and instructions laid out.

And a picture of my workspace because nobody asked.

So, NFAK cranked up and let's get started.

Ok, so far we stand here:

Have finished Gardishon ke Hai Mare and Dillagi, half way through Yeh Jo Halka Halka.

The body is a semi tub design, with the sides and rear to be attached. The molding is crisp and details are well defined.

The rear prop shaft and axle were attached, along with the silencer, bottom of the gearbox and front coil springs.

The suspension was completed, and the lower body is now complete.

Thanks guys (and girl) for the kind comments.

Some progress has been made:

The underside was painted black, as that helps give it a darker look and as it isn't really visible I'm leaving it as it is.

resized_dd3ec686-dbf7-4932-bf18-2e9a4532

The two sides attached. Some holes had to be made, and I used the tried and tested playing with fire for them.

Looks like it's supposed to now (somewhat)

resized_a37a22c8-3660-47c6-b2f5-3ca02ef5

The bumpers were attached to the rear, as was the towing eye.

Now some small parts to be done.

Nice work so far Vaastav. It certainly looks to be coming together like a Tamiya kit for you.

Plenty nice detail in the kit parts and rapid progress. This must be a welcome change to your previous project Vaastav.
