  1. Ladies and gentleblyats, as described in the what if outline thread, I shall be doing a T-55AD from the Republic of Rhodia, post it's disintegration. The tank will be built as a MDH faction vehicle. The kit is UniModel's T-55AD1 Modifications and alterations will also be done along the way. Obligatory pre-build workspace photo. The running gear. The spokes on the roadwheels are a bit too square for a T-55, but these are replacements built by the ROF (Rhodian Ordnance Factories). The final drive + steering gearbox. This part needed a lot of sanding.
  2. I had a small SNAFU with decals. Utterly disintegrated in contact with water Cheap second hand Mach 2 kit of the Douglas X-3 so I’m not going to throw good money at finding or buying new decals and I doubt anyone would have suitable spares so Late 1950s Bristol have been tasked with building the 188 to evaluate new exotic construction methods, the advisability of re-engining a design at a late stage and the inability to reach and sustain high speed flight. They quickly realise that such a craft already exists over the pond so the Douglas X-3 is duly borrowed and finds a second life
  3. I made something of a start on two kits which aren’t officially available yet - still waiting on test builds finishing so no harm in raiding my stock Avro 698 and Vickers Swallow assembly starts and but a day or so of glue setting and they are in primer
  4. After a very long break I have a finished(ish) model for y’all 1/72 scale Miles M.52 from the 3D printed kit Breaking the wheels and one bay door put a dampener on the build and I 100% blame the person who designed the kit for any and all flaws
  5. Hi folks, well finally I have managed to wrest some 'me' time from the demands of many and varied people around me. Not enough to actually do any modelling, perish the thought. But at least I have been able to take some pics of my most recent completed work, my first to be documented on here. Should the need for a good laugh overtake you, you can have a gander at that particular thread here. Anyways, here are some pics (taken with phone) that have been cropped to varying degrees but otherwise left as they were taken:
  6. 1:35 Soviet Ball Tank ‘Sharotank’ MiniArt Catalogue # 40001 I have to say that I usually steer well clear from What-If subjects, almost to the point of purposeful avoidance. There are times though that I do get tempted, and then overcome the temptation. In this instance, MiniArt’s new Sharotank is one subject that I just hadto take a closer look at. Of course, this armoured ball tank never existed, but I’m pretty sure that there was more than an ounce of influence and inspiration taken from Item No.37 at the Kubinka Tank Museum, just to the west of Moscow, Russia. Here, a ra
  7. МиΓ е1.5 At end of Great Patriotic War, Glorious Soviet Army, fresh from their Glorious Socialist victory over forces of Fascism, returned to Motherland bearing gifts. Along with several countries, they freed thousands of reports, studies and blueprints from Fascist factories. These reports were studied by Soviet Academicians and ideas therein, finally freed from their Fascist Foremen, went on to help Soviet industrial might take its rightful place in post-war world. Design Bureau of Artem Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich was tasked with creating Soviet Union's first practical jet fig
